A versatile approach to high-throughput microarrays using thiol-ene chemistry.
Microarray technology has become extremely useful in expediting the investigation of large libraries of materials in a variety of biomedical applications, such as in DNA chips, protein and cellular microarrays. In the development of cellular microarrays, traditional high-throughput printing strategies on stiff, glass substrates and non-covalent attachment methods are limiting. We have developed...
متن کاملBiostickers: Patterned Microfluidic Stickers for Rapid Integration with Microarrays
We present a one-step, reversible, and biocompatible bonding method of a stiff patterned microfluidic "Biosticker", based on off-stoichiometry thiol-ene (OSTE) polymers [1], to state-of-the-art spotted microarray surfaces. The method aims at improving and simplifying the batch back-end processing of microarrays. We illustrate its ease of use in two applications: a high sensitivity flow-through ...
متن کاملMild Two-Step Method to Construct DNA-Conjugated Silicon Nanoparticles: Scaffolds for the Detection of MicroRNA-21
We describe a novel two-step method, starting from bulk silicon wafers, to construct DNA conjugated silicon nanoparticles (SiNPs). This method first utilizes reactive high-energy ball milling (RHEBM) to obtain alkene grafted SiNPs. The alkene moieties are subsequently reacted with commercially available thiol-functionalized DNA via thiol-ene click chemistry to produce SiNP DNA conjugates wherei...
متن کاملMultiscale Surface-Attached Hydrogel Thin Films with Tailored Architecture.
A facile route for the fabrication of surface-attached hydrogel thin films with well-controlled chemistry and tailored architecture on wide range of thickness from nanometers to micrometers is reported. The synthesis, which consists in cross-linking and grafting the preformed and ene-reactive polymer chains through thiol-ene click chemistry, has the main advantage of being well-controlled witho...
متن کاملStreptavidin binding as a model to characterize thiol-ene chemistry-based polyamine surfaces for reversible photonic protein biosensing.
Biotin- and iminobiotin-bonded surfaces obtained by thiol-ene chemistry and subsequent modification with polyamines were characterized with respect to streptavidin-binding capacity and reversibility for photonic biosensing using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and Mach-Zehnder-interferometric sensors. The streptavidin-iminobiotin system was exploited for reversible multilayer deposition and de...
